About the event

Join us at The Old Dairy for a friendly, beginner's guide to the night sky with astronomer Steve Broadbent.

Using Stellarium software, Steve will take us on a live tour of exactly what's visible in the sky that night, plus a closer look at some fascinating objects you can spot with the naked eye, binoculars, or a small telescope.

No experience needed — just bring your curiosity! We're lucky enough to sit inside the South Downs International Dark Sky Reserve, one of the best places in the country to look up, so there's no better spot to learn what you're seeing.

Steve is a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society with over 50 years' experience in astronomy, and course tutor for Hampshire Astronomical Group's popular "Astronomy for Beginners" course — so you're in expert hands.

There'll be time for questions afterwards, and of course coffee and cake or a glass…
